Position Summary Information

Position Summary

Clayton State University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Health & Fitness Management (HFMG) starting in August 2017.

CSU is nationally recognized as a leader in the use of information technology to transform teaching, learning, and other aspects of the collegiate experience. Clayton State University is a Senior Unit of the University of System of Georgia and is fully accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in Exercise Physiology or Applied Physiology
• Successful college teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels
• Certifications from ACSM (CEP at minimum) and/or NSCA (CSCS)
• Experience working with BIOPAC research /student lab systems and software
• Commitment to active learning and the use of online delivery technology
• Engage in undergraduate research and scholarly activity leading to presentations and publications
• Successful grant funding

Minimum Education Requirements

Earned doctorate in Exercise Physiology or Applied Physiology

Responsibilities Summary

• Teach courses in the HFMG program such as kinesiology, exercise testing & prescription, sports nutrition, exercise physiology, including related laboratory components (12 credit hours each semester), with flexibility to teach evenings.
• Serve as an undergraduate research mentor for Health & Fitness Management majors
• Participate in service to the Department, College, University, and Community
• Participate in grant writing
