This is a tenure-track appointment that reports to the Dean of the College of Health. The position will be available July 1, 2017. Salary commensurate with experience and competitive with comparable departments. Position Summary Information

Position Summary

The School of Nursing in the College of Health at Clayton State University (CSU) is seeking applicants for the position of Department Chair. This is a 12-month, tenure-track position.

Qualifications

Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field with a master’s degree in nursing. Additionally:
• Demonstrated experience in graduate, undergraduate and online programs.
• A record of teaching, service and scholarship justifying appointment as an associate or full professor.
• Experience in faculty recruitment and development.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
• Experience with accreditation and curriculum evaluation.
• A successful record of grant writing and funding.
• Current or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
Experience with student recruitment and retention.
• Experience in the integration of multiple instructional technologies.
• Experience in managing budgets, scheduling classes, and working with part-time faculty.
• Success in the generation of external funding.

Minimum Education Requirements

Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field with a master’s degree in nursing.

Responsibilities Summary

• Lead faculty in the department’s program.
• Manage the department’s budget.
• Teach one course each term.
• Serve on various on- and off-campus committees.
• Participate in service to the School, College, and University.
