Position Summary Information

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Financial Aid, assists in managing the federal student loan program through the Banner system, implements financial aid policies and procedures, and provides financial aid information to the University community and prospective and current students.

The applicant offered this position may be subject to a pre-employment drug test.

Qualifications

Some experience in financial aid.

Minimum Education Requirements

• Bachelors degree or combination of education and some experience in financial aid.

Responsibilities Summary

Verify student/parent loan eligibility and adjust awards through manual and automated methods in keeping with federal regulations. Responsible for certifying all student loans through the Banner system as well as sending, receiving, and loading electronic files.

Perform credit checks for Parent and GRAD PLUS loans, and resolves any issues.

Advise students, parents, and staff on general student loan policies and procedures as well as general financial aid regulations. Reply to student inquiries via phone, email, the web, etc. as needed.

Assist Assistant Director with default prevention activities including Peer Financial Counseling Program and Money Madness. Assist with Open House, Orientation, etc. as needed.

Keep up to date on current Federal regulations. Responsible for maintaining accuracy and integrity of student loan program for the University.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director or Director.
