Position Summary Information

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the workflow for the admission application process. The incumbent will work primarily with non-traditional, post-baccalaureate and transient student populations, but will provide assistance in other areas as needed. This person will serve as the contact for the Go Back Move Ahead initiative, work on active recruitment of students, and review residency petitions. This position requires some flexibility in work schedule.

Qualifications

Excellent written and oral communication skills; effective presentation and organizational skills; effective interpersonal skills. Ability to interview and interact tactfully with students from diverse backgrounds; ability to establish long, enduring, and professional relationships with colleges; ability to function as a team player with other members of the Admissions Office. Must be able to convey enthusiasm, energy and poise. Must be able to travel, with some overnight travel required. Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Some related experience in admission, recruitment or other higher education activities.

Responsibilities Summary

Review and evaluate applications for Non Traditional, Post Baccalaureate and Transient students. Provide in office admission counseling for Non Traditional, Post Baccalaureate and Transient and transfer students; provide follow-up communication with prospective students. Conduct presentations to attract students; manage relationships with prospective transfer student and college personnel. Review Residency Petition. . Serves as the office liaison/staff for the Appeal Committee. Review residency Petitions. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and Associate Director.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office software products; knowledge and experience working with SCT Banner is desired.
