Position Summary

The department of Building Services is currently hiring for one(1) Custodian I. Custodian I is responsible for helping to maintain the appearance of offices, classrooms, hallways, laboratories, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairways and restrooms by performing housekeeping duties such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, recycling, and removal of trash in the building. Washing windows, door panels and window sills is required. Cleaning and polishing lighting fixtures, marble surfaces and trim is also required. Additionally, it is required to complete additional tasks requested on an “as needed” basis. Various shifts available.

The applicant offered this position will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.


• Several months of experience preferred; not required.
• Must be able to lift 50 Lbs.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to tolerate some bending.
• Must be able to use various cleaning chemicals safely.
• Must be able to work self-sufficiently with minimal or no supervision.

Minimum Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
