Position Summary Information

Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing admissions services for Clayton State University in the Office of Recruitment and Admission. It will specialize in transfer student admission, evaluation and will provide assistance in other areas as needed. Recruiting transfer students will be necessary especially during Transfer PROBE. This position requires some flexibility in work schedule.

The applicant offered this position may be subject to a pre-employment drug test.

Qualifications

Two years of related experience in admissions, recruitment, or other higher education activities. Transfer admission experience is highly preferred.

Valid driver’s license.

Minimum Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree is required.

Responsibilities Summary

Reviews and evaluates admissions applications for transfer students.

Provides in office admissions counseling for transfer students; provides follow-up communication with prospective transfer students.

Conducts presentations to attract transfer students; manages relationships with prospective transfer students and college personnel. Must establish ongoing relationship with 2 year institutions.

Assists with Transfer Evaluation when necessary.

Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director or Director.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office software products; knowledge of SCT Banner required and/or Recruitment Plus is helpful.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; effective presentation and organizational skills; effective interpersonal skills.

Ability to interview and interact tactfully with students from diverse backgrounds; ability to establish long, enduring, and professional relationships with colleges; ability to function as a team player with other members of the Admissions Office. Must be able to convey enthusiasm, energy and poise. Must be able to travel, with some overnight travel required.

Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
