Position Summary

The successful candidate must be able to work independently and with a high degree of accuracy in a very busy environment. Must be committed to quality customer service, demonstrate problem solving skills and conduct all business transactions at the highest professional standard.

• Significant experience in accounts receivable and audit
• Banner and PeopleSoft preferred

Minimum Education Requirements

High School Diploma with at least seven years of experience in accounting or related field, Bachelor Degree preferred.

Responsibilities Summary

• Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash etc
• Petty cash (Campus wide)
• Prepare bank deposits
• Investigate and resolve deposit queries
• Process adjustments
• Communicating with customers via phone, email, mail or in person
• Posting daily cash receipts
• Monthly reconciliations
• Miscellaneous reporting in Excel
• Research and resolve Accounts Receivable issues with customers’ chargebacks
• The ability to multi-task
• Other duties assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Effective organizational and time management skills; excellent oral and written communication; teamwork; and a strong technical (information systems) aptitude
• Ability to sometimes function independently; ability to communicate effectively with multiple offices and individuals; ability to synchronize accounting practices and information systems.
• Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge and understanding of federal cash management regulations
• Knowledge of FERPA regulations
• Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques to find solutions to complex accounting problems
• Knowledge of Excel and Access in order to quantify and illustrate management reports, comparisons, impacts and/or projections
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records and information
