Position Summary Information

Position Summary

The Customer Service Specialist serves as the first point of contact for anyone calling, emailing, or visiting the Registrar’s Office. This individual fields the majority of inquiries directed through the Registrar’s Office and provides information pertaining to student records and university policies and procedures. Additional tasks specific to this position include the processing of verifications of enrollment; the ordering all office supplies required for the Registrar’s Office; and all mail processing for the office. The Customer Service specialist also serves as the administrative assistant to the University Registrar. This individual is essential in maintaining the daily operations of the Registrar’s Office and ensuring prompt, accurate customer service as well as supporting the needs of the University Registrar and the entire office staff.

• Related experience in a professional office setting.
• Must be professional and able to handle high demand situations.
• Must be able to multitask and work independently.
• A successful background investigation is a requirement for employment at CSU.

Minimum Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities Summary

• First point of contact in the Registrar’s Office (60%)
• Processes verification of enrollment requests (5%)
• Processes name/demographic changes for students (5%)
• Handles all incoming and outgoing mail/interdepartmental documents (10%)
• Processes all department purchasing requests (5%)
• Provides administrative assistance for the University Registrar (15%)

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of Ellucian Banner software desired.
• Must have current knowledge of the rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to student records.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
