Position Summary

Clayton State University invites applicants for a position of Lecturer in Voice, Soprano or Mezzo-Soprano, beginning August 2018. This is a non-tenure-track, renewable appointment with benefits. Responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate applied voice both in classical and in contemporary musical theatre (CCM) styles; assisting in recruiting qualified vocal students; contributing to the enhancement of the music program; service to the Visual and Performing Arts department; and teaching a range of music courses commensurate with candidate’s skills and department’s needs. (Possible areas of need might include vocal pedagogy, class voice, music history, music technology, music theory, music education, or general education music courses for non-majors.) Required qualifications: M.M. in voice performance or pedagogy (earned doctorate preferred); demonstrated success teaching undergraduate singers; record of active professional performance as a classical singer.
