Position Summary

The Department of Social Sciences at Clayton State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Political Science to begin Fall 2018. We are particularly interested in a generalist with research and teaching experience in public policy, American government, and comparative politics. The position requires 24 semester hours of seated or online undergraduate/graduate teaching per year, and the candidate must have a PhD in Political Science or a closely related discipline in-hand before August, 2018.

Candidates should also have evidence of superior teaching and fruitful scholarship, as well as experience working with diverse student and community populations. The ability to teach courses on Public Administration and/or International Relations is considered a plus. Success in pursuing externally funded research opportunities is desirable, as is experience or interest in working with graduate students. The mentoring of undergraduate Political Science majors is an essential responsibility.
