The Department of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a full-time Lecturer of Film Production to begin work August 1st, 2018. This faculty member must have a Master’s degree and 18 hours in a film production discipline. The Master of Fine Arts degree is preferred. Additional experience and graduate coursework of 18 hours or more in theater is preferred, allowing the lecturer to teach one or more theater courses each semester as a part of the full time load. In addition, the candidate will be expected to perform service for the department, college, university, and/or community. The chosen candidate will be responsible mainly for teaching a combination of film production courses in Visual Effects, Animation, Motion Design, Storyboarding, Audio or Lighting, depending upon the candidate’s specialty.

The new faculty member must be willing to teach some evening, weekend, and/or Friday hours, possibly at more than one location. This faculty member is needed to serve a rapidly growing population of close to 150 film majors.
